Tentatively, we are interested in using a projector, an IR LED pen, and a Wii remote to create an immersive surface interface for computers. This would enable users to use a wall or any other surface suitable for a projector as a desktop, and the pen as a pointing device/paintbrush/etc. Thus, users can interact with computer applications directly on the "screen" in front of an audience.
Our best idea at the moment is to use this technology to allow children to create digital flip books by drawing frames on the surface, and having the application play them back. The project seeks to encourage iteration and editing, as well as cooperative effort (multiple pens can be tracked at once).
